What is the programming languages used to build and develop famous websites and their services like Yahoo! and Yahoo mail also Google and Gmail.

I really like linux except for most of the programs i use won’t work on it. Is there a linux version that will run Yahoo messenger 10, Itunes 9, Frostwire and google chrome? I really don’t like pidgin because of the way i use messenger. I have had very little luck with wine.
