How do I get my Firefox working again?

When I try to open it I get this message:

"Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system."

I already restarted my computer once and it didn’t work. How do I close "the existing Firefox process" without having to restart again?

How do you resolve Firefox 3 memory usage problems?

Every once and a while, Firefox will hog up the memory to over around 300 MB of RAM (looked through it via Task Manager). It easily resolves by just restarting it, but eventually it just climbs back up overtime. Is there a solution to this? I don’t use a lot of tabs; just maybe 5-6.

How do i stop adobe reader and firefox from clashing?

How to invoke the Linux Terminal in LINUX when a process becomes unresponsive?

If a process becomes unresponsive in WINDOWS then we press "alt+ctrl+del" to invoke the task manager & then terminate the process.Is there any similar way to invoke the Linux Terminal so that we can end a process by the ‘kill’ command when it becomes unresponsive?Any help would be gladly accepted.
