I’m thinking in terms of a programmer in India working on part of a project and another in the US working on the same project, how do they piece or join the code they have worked with together? How do they ensure that they follow similar programming guidelines?

I develop a website in php, html. I would like to test it.How can I test the project? If some one ask my project, How can I protect my source code?

I’ve seen claims that Ubuntu is more secure than Windows. How can this be the case if anyone is allowed to see and edit the source code?

I have been using Ubuntu for 3 years now. I have started doubting in security.

Because if everyone is able to modify the source code, which then gets compiled in many computers, who can guarantee safety?

The GNU license stipulates that companies are allowed to distribute and change Linux, but the customers have to be able to have access to the source code.

I want to hide the source code, the same way Yahoo! Mail is able to hide its source code.

I’ve seen some other attempts on hiding source codes, but they’re not foolproof. Some only hide the source codes from right-clicking, but not from viewing source code from the menu bar (View > Source).
HTML encryption is not enough. It’s very easy to unescape these characters. Thanks anyway. Anything else?

I need a open source P2P application where I can manipulate the source code, any guesses?

My website is database driven and coded in PHP/MySQL. If i wanted to start coding in Ruby on Rails or Python will i be able to change my site’s source code in to RoR or Python. My site is large and has video uploading system and social network features, including forums.

2. How long would it take?
