What can be done with open source software?
Programs like gimp and open office are open source but,I really don’t quite know what that means.I know the source code it suppose to be available but where?And if I could do something with it I’ve never seen ANYTHING about how to edit open source programs.Can I add menus take some menu option away?

Can I give my source code while maintaining copyright of the software?
A client wants us to develop an app and wants the source code so that they can change them later on. But I want to maintain the copyright of the source code so that I can still sell the software to other clients. So can I give me the source code while I maintain the copyright?

What is PHP and how do you link/use it in web development?
What exactly can you use PHP for? What i understand is that you can read and write information on a database. Is it like javascript and css where you link your PHP file with a source code in your html page?

I would like to begin programming open source C++ code for Linux, where should I begin?
I have been programming in Visual C++, Dev C++ and other windows versions of code. I heard about the open source community and really like Knoppix and devices like Freenas and would like to begin making my transition into compiling and coding from within Linux, using the Gnu compiler stuff where should I begin looking?
