A friend of mine has spiked my interest in computer programming, but he didn’t really fill me in on the basics. Which language do you think is the best to use for programming for a beginner? I was thinking either C++, Ruby, or Python. If someone could point me in the right direction, that would be great, as well as any really good tutorial sites for languages. Thanks!

I have a HP 2133 mini laptop that has a SUSE Linux 10 operating system. I can download programs in Linux but not install. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I heard C++ was outdated and lands you very few jobs. I do not have a college degree in computer science but i am willing to spend a lot of time to learn and i am happy with any programming job that pays at least 35k. If any one could help me and lead me in the right direction that would be great.

I tried at BrotherSoft and Aspell.net but everytime I start to run the .exe file it show a window with lots of files and I must pick on to open. Why is it not automatic? Is it the same when I have to download a dictionary. Can you point me in the right direction? I need it so badly.

I was thinking that there may be a linux os that does this, but I can’t seem to find any. I want to have my old computer play game emulators like NES and SNES, Sega, and Game Boy, without having an entire os boot up. I want it to boot up like an arcade game that has all different games on it. If you could give me a link or point in the right direction, then I would be very grateful. Thanks!

and if so, can you use the same features as if you were in linux……gui wise i mean, what i’m sayin is can i get all the cool gui’s that linux has if install them on windows if it’s possible?
