What is the easiest programming language to learn? Can someone give me a good place to start? I had started to read a book on "Beginning Programming" but it was not a very good book overall. I learned HTML recently if that helps at all. Thanks!

I want to learn but think I should start with a good basic program. Can anyone suggest a simple programming language?

I mean what’s the programming language people usually use to program freeware applications.
I have a bit experience in programming,can i learn it fast?

I’m developing a program and it’s open sourced and free. I also have a donation box on my site. I know if people like your program they will donate, Right?? My question is, how many of the several programs which are free and open sourced, find people willing to donate to their projects. Enough to host the site, or upgrade to a more efficient programming language .

I want to learn to start programming but I do not know what language to learn first. I have many ideas for programs. I want to create programs that have a server version and client version. I just do not know where to start! And I definitely want to have GUI is my programs.

So, here is your challenge:
- Tell me what programming language is best to learn first and why?
- Tell me what resources (Books, Software, Etc.) that would best help me learn the programming language.

I am thinking about seriously learning programming to wreak some havoc later on ):D. Just kidding. Anyway, what are some well-functioning and beginner-friendly programming language to learn? How long does it take usually to master a language? What should be the second language I should learn? Thanks so much!

What is the programming languages used to build and develop famous websites and their services like Yahoo! and Yahoo mail also Google and Gmail.

ummm…a lecturer was asking this question in class the other day and i decided to post the question online. so there you have it. what is the difference between a scripting language and a programming language?

Im just wondering what programming language is best to learn for begginners, i already know html and also visual basic, but im looking to learn a more involved programming language, im just not sure where to start, and also if you could suggest some websites that have tutorials or guides, cheers in advance!

Right now I’ve been learning C++, but if there is a programming language that is more used to make video games, I would rather learn that.
