I need to run some php files from within WP root directory, but WP keeps looking for a page with that permalink when I try to access it and gives me the 404 error, naturally. Is there a way to make this work?

I would like to make something with php and need to know what i need to make php files postable to a webpage. Thank you.

I downloaded a program (or I thought it was a program) to archive my old entries in my blog and transfer into hard copies. The description says it’s open source. I opened the folder and all that’s inside of it are PHP files. I have no clue how to "activate" or open these files, let alone use them. Do I need to download a specific application? Do I need to have Linux?

I mean i want to turn my computer to a server, so i can run .php files easily. I can do that for .asp files but i don’t know anything for .php files.

I need video tutorials for PHP, i mean what does php basically mean and how to use them in website, are they like html codes or something else, i downloaded some php codes but when i preview them in firefox or any other internet explorer, i see only codes, no forms are displayed. And are there some simple html codes for contact forms and comment boxes

I am a beginner, I have some knowledge of html and understand that php is better with uploading files (which I can’t do with html either), but I can’t really get anything out of the tutorials on the web. I really need someone to tell me elementary style how to get started with step by step process. I would really appreciate your knowledge.

Just curious what the difference is between these two files. I edit the WordPress sites with PHP files and Cubecart sites with TPL files. They seem to work the same. What’s the difference? Thank you.

I found a simple php script that I wanted to run and I saved the php script in notepad and saved it as xxxx.php and all files……but …..what program do I need to use to open that file and run the script?
