What is the programming code for a register and log in system for my website?
I need a code that lets people log in to my DSi compatible website. Please at least give me links to sites that I can just copy and paste the code. Thanks!
What is the advantage of writing a program in a standardized programming language?
What is the advantage of writing a program in a standardized programming language? I think it’s because it makes the program available to more users, or the ability to be recognized my more systems…
I mean like using C++ versus some random language only 20 people use.
Or some not well known bastardized version of C versus C++
Now that you mention it, it is a really vague question, but I need to answer it for my homework for my intro to programming class.
Does anyone know which open source software i can use to make a website like Yahoo Answers ?
I really want to know how I can save on programmers, I have a decent knowledge in coding but i cant do it myself. Thats why i believe there should be some open source software like Pligg to help me develop a site where people can ask there questions, and answer them of course. Any clue will be appreciated. Thank you in advance !!!
What language would be best for people new to programming?
I’ve been looking around at a ton of different sources about programming. For the time being I would like to start off with something fundamental, that is, something I can build upon. That said, I’m not ready to learn any advance languages, such as the C languages. The two I’m considering are Python and Basic.
Which one would be better to learn?
Are there any other fundamental languages anyone would recommend?
Why is Linux better than Windows for developing software?
I see and hear all over the place that Linux is better than Windows for developing. But I never hear any real concrete reasons. I’d like to know just some general ideas (or detailed if you feel like typing) why people use Linux over Windows for development. Note, the question is not why to choose Linux over Windows as an OS for any reason. I am interested specifically in why to use it for developing. Thanks.
Is there an open source platform similar to Yahoo! Groups?
A friend of mine operates a story-in-installments kind of Play by E-mail game, but their getting tired of people not wanting to join because of it being on Yahoo! Groups. Could anyone suggest an open source platform that could allow similar functions to Yahoo! Groups but could be hosted on a simple host server with PHP, MySQL, and such?
Can I run The Gimp (GNU Image Manipulation Program) from Cd?
My computer is running out of space and I am wondering if I could burn the Gimp Program onto a disk to run it from the disk whenever I had photos, etc to manipulate and whatnot? Can I? and How would I go about that?
ps on a personal note, i love the Gimp, its an awesome program, I’d be lost without it!!
heres their site, http://www.gimp.org/.
also, am I allowed to do this? Like, would the (awesome) people who made this be mad or sue me or something? I just want it for MY OWN USE (promise!!)
:b
btw, thanks!
What software powers Yahoo Answers? And are there open source alternatives?
I think Yahoo Answers is a really cool site, and I would love to have something similar on my site. My site covers a very niche area, and people there have a lot of in-depth knowledge about some very obscure things. I think this would be a great way to further community. Forums haven’t worked well for me in the past, so I would love to try something like this. Also, open-source is ideal, and PHP driven is important. Thanks.
I appreciate the mentioning of phpbb. However, I’m not looking for a forum type of software, unless phpbb can be configured to work like Yahoo Answers. if that is the case, can anyone point me to the plugin that will help with that?
Do other people really believe that open source is still command line?
Is Microsoft spreading the lie that open source is command line and you have to be a geek to use it?
Do people not know that good open source software, such as Kubuntu, is easier to use than Windows?
What is the code to make pics slide on your profile?
You know how on some people’s myspace pages, on part of their profile they will have some pictures moving like a slideshow? But it isn’t a slideshow they made on some site. I can’t remember what the code was but I would like some help. What is the code, and how do you set the speed? Thanks!
