Why do many public institutions, such as schools and libraries, block reputable open-source software websites?
My local public library recently installed new internet filters for both wired and wifi connections. Ok, I know you cant sell open source software. But my question is can you use it to make money? Say I integrate an open source software into my website with slight modification in the code as I require. Can I place ads on the same site and monetize on it? I am not selling the software to anyone, I am just using it as a part of my site to ad value to my users. And the money being generated is not through the software but through the ads.
