I have a file that counts as a variable in my php page. The file changes a lot in a minute. Something new appears every 5 seconds. I want php to check if the file has changed and if it has refresh the page. I simply use file_get_content command to make a a variable. Please Help!

For some reason, Mozilla Firefox crashed on me and now whenever I try to open it an error report comes up. I need to unstall it from my computer and then re-install it. The only problem is I have a lot of important links saved in my booksmarks. Will I lose these saved links if I uninstall?

I have absolutely no experience in programming but I am interested in writing iPhone apps. I have done a lot of research but I haven’t found anything that is for complete beginners. I am 13 years old and i hear that you can make a lot of money from iPhone apps. PLEASE HELP!

I do software design in college and we have a software programming assessment task for next term.

We have quite a long time to go and therefore have some good relaxing time to program and even learn something new and then program…

What are some good ideas? I mean what kind of program do you think i can make? I want something useful and probably with quite a lot of algorithm works.

I know Python and Visual Basic quite well but we’re allowed to use any programming language…

I think Yahoo Answers is a really cool site, and I would love to have something similar on my site. My site covers a very niche area, and people there have a lot of in-depth knowledge about some very obscure things. I think this would be a great way to further community. Forums haven’t worked well for me in the past, so I would love to try something like this. Also, open-source is ideal, and PHP driven is important. Thanks.
I appreciate the mentioning of phpbb. However, I’m not looking for a forum type of software, unless phpbb can be configured to work like Yahoo Answers. if that is the case, can anyone point me to the plugin that will help with that?

I have 7 computers that I would like to install linux on (CentOS to be specific). The computers are all slightly different in terms of hardware, some are Intel, others are AMD. I have to install a lot of packages. I would like to be able to just do all the installation work on one computer, and then clone that system to all the others and just change hostnames. Is this possible?

I heard C++ was outdated and lands you very few jobs. I do not have a college degree in computer science but i am willing to spend a lot of time to learn and i am happy with any programming job that pays at least 35k. If any one could help me and lead me in the right direction that would be great.

Linspire looked good but i want to know the minimum requirements so I don’t make a partition that is to big.

A lot of my friends want in on the demonoid action. How do I earn invitation codes to give to my friends? Do I have to upload, or can I just seed my way to a code?

I’ve had a lot of technical background on the IBM midrange platform, and want to learn and get a job using Flex. I went to school for a MS in e-business, but don’t have any experience programming on the PC platform yet. Any ideas? I’ve been laid off for a year now, and it’s getting frustrating.
