I would like to begin programming open source C++ code for Linux, where should I begin?
I have been programming in Visual C++, Dev C++ and other windows versions of code. I heard about the open source community and really like Knoppix and devices like Freenas and would like to begin making my transition into compiling and coding from within Linux, using the Gnu compiler stuff where should I begin looking?
I want to install Linux alongside Windows but I have a full partition. How do I do this without losing data?
I have a full windows partition that has all of my important files. Is it possible to install Linux on this hard drive without reformatting my data?
I tried using KNOPPIX, but I was unable to open any data from my C drive with it. I couldn’t delete files either. I have reason to believe that Linux could come in handy in the event of a trojan attack. The way I see it is I could boot to linux and delete the infected files but with KNOPPIX that doesn’t seem possible.
So a CD distro is probably out of the question. Is there any other way to use linux on a computer w/ a full NTFS partition?
btw, I don’t have any viruses right now. That idea just came to mind when I was looking at KNOPPIX
I have a program called Partition Magic? Can I use this?
How Did I Violate The Yahoo Terms Of Service? Discrimination against GNU/Linux?

Question: Does anyone know where I can get hold of a software that blocks mailicious sites on a home network?
Question Details: Like Websense?, it has to be free if not name some please!
Deleted Answer: The real question is do you want to ever get viruses again? If yes follow instructions under number 1. If not follow instructions under number 2.
1. Download Avast, Spybot, and Clamwin and scan your computer. Do a boot time scan with Avast. Register avast for free. Repeat every two weeks. Then install Proconn in Firefox to block bad sites.
2. Go to www.distrowatch.com and download knoppix and use it to back up all your data to an external HD or CD/DVD. Then go to www.ultumix.com and get the DVD for either the Standard Edition or the Gamer Edition and install it. Then put all your data back on the computer.
Never get viruses again ever.
