Was wondering how long does it take to become an entry level Linux or Unix administrator? I mean what is the minimum time required to be able to seek for a job at an entry level.

I will be starting College Soon, But i don’t know what kind of classes i need to take in order to apply for the job, What do you think? And experience wise what do you think i should do to get my foot in the door to land that job

obviously they program computers but like if i went into that job field, would i just be sitting there typing code into a cpu all day?

I converted an video to an flv format, but i want to trim it. Is there an open source program that can do the job? or how can i do this. I want to upload this video to my website.

I’ve had a lot of technical background on the IBM midrange platform, and want to learn and get a job using Flex. I went to school for a MS in e-business, but don’t have any experience programming on the PC platform yet. Any ideas? I’ve been laid off for a year now, and it’s getting frustrating.

Also is 1 year of linux study enough to get a job as System linux administrator?

What exactly do I need to learn to achieve that goal?

Ok so I’m a pretty decent programmer. I know C and C++. I used to know Visual Basic a long time ago. I have no official experience though.

I want to get a job as a programmer, but I’ve been looking on Monster.com and each one of them wants somebody with experience, without exception.

Also, it seems like they want somebody familiar with ASP and .NET and I don’t know much about that stuff.

How can I get my foot in the door?

I took Intro to Programming (which used C++) last semester. I don’t have time right now to take more than 1 class in the spring, so I was wondering whether I should take another class in programming (such as something mre advanced with C++ or a Java class) or a web applications class.

Any suggestions (these or other classes) are definitely appreciated. Ultimately, I would like to move into the computer field or integrate it with my current job (lawyer).

Hi, I was wondering if anyone would know how to get in contact with a good computer programmer. Not nessesarily a proffessional, I just have a project and I would like him to tell me if and what it would take to get it done. I think the end product would be very lucrative so if he wants a share of the end profit that is a possibility ((as long as he does the job)).

IN THE US , How long is your work hours per week as a programmer/IT manager or any other computer related job?
Do you work on weekens?
