How can you download programs to install on a Linux computer that's offline?

My biggest qualm with Linux right now (if any) is that my parents are still stuck without an Internet connection. So if I want to add Linux-based software I have to perform a miracle by downloading not only the package I want but every package it depends on too… right?

Is there something I’m missing that’ll tell me what to get regardless, from another computer, so i don’t have to worry about the process?

How can I access to an internet connection on linux using the wireless?

I want to access to a wireless connection in a PC with linux (ubuntu 10.04). But I can’t find any connection. Lately I realized that the wireless light on my computer (fujitsu Siemens) is turned off. How can I turn it on and access to an internet connection by wireless.

What's the best linux distro for a computer without an internet connection?

Considering only this as a criterion, what’s the best linux distribution that comes to mind?

Thanks

Why does my webpage look good in firefox and then change on reload or refresh?

I am testing my webpages in various browsers and firefox has some quirky issues. My page will show correctly and then when i hit refresh it will show up with my tabled images moved askew. If I hit refresh again it will look perfect and then the next couple of clikcs go back and forth between having errors or having no errors.

If my page had errors I would try to correct them. But most of the time the pages load great.

I have a fast internet connection but the times when the page doee not load correctly there is like a two second lag. Other than that the page loads almost immediately.

Something funky is going on and I don’t know what or why.

I am looking for a solid explanation why this would happen.

I need your advice and links to articles/groups.

> Which is better, bulding from base or redevelop existing one?

> If I re-develop or redesign an existing browser (like Kameleon, Firefox, Mozilla), can I release it as a new one with a new name? New name is not for commercial, but for new branding.

> If re-developement is better, which is browser’s coding is best to work on?

> What are the needs (programming languages, software, hardware and type of internet connection) to work, develop & debug?

> Can a single man make a complete browser? is it possible? If no, how much and what kind of developers do I need to hang-out?

Please explain me. Thanks in advance.

How do I enter my passkey to connect to an internet connection on a Linux Ubuntu?

You see, the network to access the internet here at home requires a password to connect to it, should you be using a Mac or a Windows based OS. However, my Linux just connects to the network without asking for a password. But I can’t access the internet since I didn’t enter the password. And I have no idea how to enter it. Any help?

How do i disable auto proxy for my internet connection in firefox and for everything?

Few days back, I clicked on a tool to renew my IP and it automatically gave me a proxy settings for everythings. Now I can’t disable it in firefox or for anythings else. Everytime i enable ‘direct connection’ in firefox and it sets back to manual proxy when it restarts. I tried to change the internet explorar settings but didn’t help. I think the it’s configured in system that keeps everything unchaged. So, I would really appriciate if anyone suggest me a way to disable the auto proxy.
it’s not a web based tool. it’s from a software called ALL IN ONE RAPIDSHARE
