I had XP on the computer since i got it, then i downloaded Ubuntu. I want to delete the linux with corrupting the hard drive or ruining XP in any way.

I have a full windows partition that has all of my important files. Is it possible to install Linux on this hard drive without reformatting my data?

I tried using KNOPPIX, but I was unable to open any data from my C drive with it. I couldn’t delete files either. I have reason to believe that Linux could come in handy in the event of a trojan attack. The way I see it is I could boot to linux and delete the infected files but with KNOPPIX that doesn’t seem possible.

So a CD distro is probably out of the question. Is there any other way to use linux on a computer w/ a full NTFS partition?
btw, I don’t have any viruses right now. That idea just came to mind when I was looking at KNOPPIX
I have a program called Partition Magic? Can I use this?

I have a Macbook Pro and was wondering if i could try linux and still keep Mac OS X 10.4. What should I do and is it possible to have multiple OS’s on a single hard drive?

my computer runs windows xp and i was wondering if i could buy a second hard drive and put Linux on it and switch hard drives to which os i wanted

For various reasons, I want to convert my hard drive from FAT32 to NTFS. I am currently using Linux Mint, and I am having some problems doing so. I cannot find any tutorials for Linux. I would be completely fine if I have to wipe my hard drive. Do you guys know something like a terminal code?

I recently reformated my hard drive and installed linux Ubuntu. Everything has been working exept that i cannot connect to the interet. When I try it just brings up the interet passcode box and says i need to retype it. Is it my router or am I just doing something wrong?

I have vista installed on one hard drive and fedora 10 linux installed on the other hard drive. How can I remove the linux partition since windows doesn’t recognize linux partitions?

I originally had Windows 7, then due to a registry error, it messed up and wouldn’t boot again. I used the Mandriva Linux install disc to format the hard drive but now when I boot the computer with the Windows 7 install disc, it does not acknowledge the disc (even though it is set to read the disc from the BIOS). It simply continues straight to the Linux OS. It is not a disc issue either as I have back-ups.

My OS came from a borrowed disk, so therefor I can not obtain a new one with my money situation. When installed my OS, it installed on my secondary hard drive, leaving me with no memory left at all. 11% to be exact. Is there a way to get it off my secondary, on to my primary, without a disk or partitioning?

XP,Vista After I Format my Hard Drive Will Apple even install on my computer and work proparly, or will I have to get a Apple michine to do that.
