What anti virus and firewall protection is better than norton anti virus and mozilla firefox?

Author: I have norton anti virus and mozilla firefox but they seem to slow my pc down. I’ve already done a disk clean up and a defrag but it is still acting funny. Please help!

How can I fix a laptop that acted funny with the preinstalled os and the wrong os installed by repair shop?
I got HP laptop windows vista installed bout a month later it started flashing os not found and kept acting weird. I took it to a repair shop an they installed windows basic for a home pc. my coverage is still on it should I takeit back and hope its covered or is there anothr way? Please help, thanks.
