Author: What exactly can you use PHP for? What i understand is that you can read and write information on a database. Is it like javascript and css where you link your PHP file with a source code in your html page?

What web programming languages should i learn?
I am learning web programming, so far i am learning html,xhtml, css, java script….
What I want to know is what other web programming languages should i learn?
Is there any way that same html code works for both mozilla fire fox and Internet Explorer?
I have build a website that when viewed through Internet Explore looks fine but when viewed through Mozilla Firefox then alignment of text is not perfect. Can the same code works for both browsers or we have to write separate CSS for both browsers.

How do I start contributing to Open Source projects?
I am currently looking for open source software projects but I don’t know where to start.
I am open to learning any new languages for the projects. I’m pretty much looking to gain experience in programming.
I have a background in C, PHP, SQL, HTML/XHTML, and CSS.
I am open to any suggestions.
