Ok so I’m a pretty decent programmer. I know C and C++. I used to know Visual Basic a long time ago. I have no official experience though.

I want to get a job as a programmer, but I’ve been looking on Monster.com and each one of them wants somebody with experience, without exception.

Also, it seems like they want somebody familiar with ASP and .NET and I don’t know much about that stuff.

How can I get my foot in the door?

i study in a college in california. I want to become a game programmer, but in my college there is only Computer and Information Sciences, Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services,
Computer Programming, Programmer.
If i study computer programming or computer science, can i become a computer game programmer?
What should i study except programming??

I’m going into high school and I am wondering what classes I should take.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone would know how to get in contact with a good computer programmer. Not nessesarily a proffessional, I just have a project and I would like him to tell me if and what it would take to get it done. I think the end product would be very lucrative so if he wants a share of the end profit that is a possibility ((as long as he does the job)).

Obviously computers and software but I’m talking about like math and science type stuff. What does it take to program is what I mean.

I have no idea. Do I do an apprenticeship?

Also, if I did a certificate in multimedia or something would I be able to find much work?

Please give me some links to apprenticeship websites or something.

what is fun about being a computer programmer?

What kind of abilities do you need?
Which makes more money? How much schooling to do?

This person has a BS in Computer Science, and plenty of experience in various programming languages… especially PHP, Java, Ruby and lots of others. Where can you find companies that want to hire people for contract work? These kind of jobs are out there, how does one find them?
