Is there a possible way to recover my OS after reformatting my hard drives?

Author: I am planning to reformat all of my hard drives. I know it will delete EVERYTHING in my system including the Operating System. My computer is running on Windows XP and I’m wondering if there’s anyway to recover my OS. Microsoft stopped selling Windows XP and I don’t plan to use any of my money anyways.
PS: I have recovery discs. Will this reinstall my OS?

The recovery discs are exactly what you want. Other people have to go shopping on eBay or borrow from friends.
An added bonus to the recovery media instead of a generic OS is that you will also be restoring the hardware drivers you need. But be prepared for a long session downloading updates and service packs.
