Is it possible to get Firefox bookmarks from a non working computer?
My Windows laptop doesn’t work because the laptop charger Ac Adapter totally messed up the plug hole. Anyway, I have a lot of bookmarks saved in Firefox. So I was wondering if there is anyway what so ever I can get them without fixing the computer.
Remove the Hard Drive from the laptop, open your computer and plug the energy and data cables (it’s easy, c’mon). After it, you’ll see another HD on Computer Folder, open it and go the directory: X:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\profile (X is the letter of the Hard Drive), and copy the file "bookmarks.html" and paste it onto your computer folder.
C ya!
You would remove the hard drive, but you probably wouldn’t be posting here if you knew how t get it out and plug it into a sata port on your desktop computer. Just get it fixed.
You’d have to take out the HDD from the laptop, interface it with another computer such as a 2.5" laptop HDD to USB bracket (depends on if ATA or SATA connection), and on another computer, search through to the location of the file. If the laptop is Windows XP, then go to (assigned drive letter)\Documents and Settings\(XP user name you used, i.e. Owner, the default for many OEM machines)\Application Data\\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ (name of the profile) bookmarks.html
That .html file would be places in the equivalent location on the new computer. The only difference between XP and Vista/Win7 should be "\Users" instead of "\Documents and Settings".
