How do I upload Linux onto a hard drive that has windows XP?

The problem is that I couldn’t fully upload XP because I lost the product key and I am not going to pay for another copy or a new OS just so I can turn around and remove it with Linux. So if you other tech-heads out there would mind giving a hand to an absent-minded tech-head, I would be graciously thankful.

As someone new to linux I would suggest that you read the article at the link below. It will give you a general idea of how linux works. After you decide which distro you want to use I would also suggest that you read the documentation on their website to learn how to download, install, run and maintain it.
    Good luck

use the entire disk on the install of linux and it will kill your xp and you’ll have a linux distro on your computer.
